New AIDS/HIV Charities
In the past few weeks we have added a number of charities that deal with AIDS/HIV awarenes
s and treatment. We are working hard to have charities available for every single cause. If there is a charity you would like to see us add, please email me at rob@givebackamerica.com. Here is a brief summary of some of our new AIDS/HIV related charities.
- AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts
Founded in 1983, AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts is a not-for-profit, community-based health organization whose mission is to stop the HIV/AIDS epidemic by preventing new infections and optimizing the health of those already infected.
- American Foundation for Children with AIDS
The mission of American Foundation for Children with AIDS is to improve the lives of children and youth struggling with the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. We provide cost-effective relief, services, medical and social support, education and advocacy to help these victims achieve their full life potential.
- AIDS Research and Assistance Institute
AIDS Research & Assistance Institute is a non profit organization which educates and brings awareness to people internationally concerning the HIV/AIDS epidemic worldwide, important life choices, sexuality, hygiene and medical issues that are pertinent to the betterment of life quality. Education is provided through seminars, multi media programs, and literature.
- Alliance of AIDS Services - Carolina
The Alliance mission is to serve people living with HIV/AIDS, their loved ones, caregivers and communities at large, through compassionate and non-judgmental care, prevention, education and advocacy.
- AIDS Community Residence Association
The AIDS Community Residence Association (ACRA) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1987 and is located in Durham, NC. ACRA's services include the operation of Blevins House, a 24-hour care facility for people with AIDS; Fitts-Powell Apartments, a more independent setting that facilitates access to community resources; and Buchanan Place, the area's first scattered site housing for people with HIV/AIDS, which allows the most independence. Additionally, ACRA dispenses emergency rent and utility funds to people living with HIV/AIDS.
- Island Coast AIDS Network
The Island Coast AIDS Network (ICAN) was founded in 1987 and incorporated as a not for profit corporation in 1989. Its mission is to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and assist individuals infected and affected in Southwest Florida. As a community based AIDS service organization, ICAN provides a wide variety of services to its clients as well as the general public.
- Valley AIDS Council
The Valley AIDS Council, by utilizing a multi-facility system, will continue to provide and expand capacity of HIV services in South Texas . These services will be provided to individuals infected and/or affected with HIV/AIDS and related co-morbidities by providing medical care, medical training, research, social services, education, prevention and outreach.
- Mendocino County AIDS Volunteer Network
The Mendocino County AIDS Volunteer Network (MCAVN) is a grassroots non-profit organization with offices in Ukiah and Fort Bragg, CA. Our mission is to stop the transmission of HIV/HCV and care for those living with, affected by or at risk by reducing harmful effects and promoting healthy lifestyles. We provide care coordination, client advocacy, assistance with housing, food, and transportation.
- Triad Health Project
Triad Health Project (THP) provides emotional and practical support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, to their loved ones, and to those at risk for HIV/AIDS; implements strategies to educate those at risk and the community about HIV/AIDS; and advocates locally, regionally, and nationally for individuals and groups infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
