We are excited to announce the addition of the Halifax Humane Society to GiveBackAmerica.org.  The Halifax Humane Society (HHS) is based in Halifax, North Carolina.  They are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.  Their mission is to provide a clean and caring environment for homeless and unwanted animals until they are able to find these animals suitable homes.  They also strive to educate the public in the proper care of companion animals.  Animals placed in the care of the Halifax Humane Society reside at their Pet Adoption Center until they are adopted.

The Halifax Humane Society's Pet Adoption Center is a small facility.  It contains 10 indoor/outdoor canine kennels and 8 feline containment units. In addition to these, they have 4 canine quarantine kennels and 3 feline quarantine units.  Quarantine kennels and units are reserved at all times. These areas are reserved for residents recovering from surgeries, residents undergoing treatment for various medical conditions, and/or for any unexpected medical emergencies that may arise.

The HHS does not receive any funding from Halifax County or any other government funding.  The Halifax Humane Society and its Pet Adoption Center are operated by volunteers with funds derived from donations made by the public and fundraisers supported by the public.  Their volunteers do not receive any compensation for their time and efforts. All of their volunteers work full-time jobs elsewhere during the day. Since their volunteers work full-time jobs during the day they are unable to go out into the community to collect animals.
